Our classes are led by the midwives working alongside your obstetricians in private maternity care at Auckland City Hospital. You’ll gain insider knowledge, practical support, and the confidence to prepare for birth and parenthood — with plenty of space to ask your questions.
Before class, you’ll receive a short form so we can tailor the class to you and your family.
class one - 15 february
Labour & Birth
A practical, honest guide to what really happens when labour begins — and how to feel calm, confident, and in control. You'll learn what to expect at every stage, how to work with your birth team, and how to stay grounded through it all.
- When to go to hospital & what to pack
- Understanding the stages of labour
- Pain relief options, including walking epidurals
- The role of your midwife & obstetrician
- Assisted and caesarean births explained
- Early labour support
- What happens immediately after birth
class two - 22 february
Postnatal & Baby Care
This session focuses on life after birth — caring for your newborn, supporting your recovery, and navigating the emotional shifts of new parenthood.
- What the first 6 weeks really look like
- Settling & soothing your baby
- Safe sleep & baby care basics
- Healing & mental wellbeing
- Feeding options & support
- Postnatal contraception & recovery
- Strengthening your relationship after baby
why two 4-hour sessions?
We know that eight-hour days are intense and that waiting six weeks for answers isn’t ideal. Our unique format keeps sessions digestible, allows time to absorb & reflect, provides space to connect with your midwife educator in between classes.
🌿 Small group sizes mean personalised care and deeper connections. You’ll leave feeling prepared, empowered, and supported.
